Laurie Mazzarella

Patient Leader Laurie MazzarellaLaurie was diagnosed with stage IV serous endometrial cancer just months before she was to celebrate 26 years of being in remission from breast cancer. This diagnosis is serious. This type of cancer is rare and aggressive, usually occurring in post-menopausal women. Having been around the cancer community for a couple of decades proved valuable in that Laurie was familiar with how to navigate the medical system. From many years of volunteer experience, she was able to better prepare for the upcoming emotional chaos and important treatment decisions to come. Even though there were many twists and turns during her journey, she was able to go back to the basics of how to care for herself. Today, Laurie helps patients to be proactive, learn what they can about their diagnosis, have a team of physicians they trust and support from friends and family

After surgery and chemo, she took her extensive studies in various types of healing including (but not limited to) yoga, breathwork, visualization, and life/business coaching, and with these tools developed a program she uses with cancer patients, their families and caregivers to help them drop into a deep healing relaxation, acceptance and being able to enjoy the beauty of now. She is committed to sharing her story as many times as necessary if it helps someone else. She’s passionate about teaching and sharing information, the ocean, drumming, drawing, and her dog, Suki! She loves being alive!
