Life Modifications

I have had to make some modifications to fit advocacy in my schedule. I have had to rely heavily on time management and proper planning to be able to fit the work that advocacy takes to be effective. I've also had to learn to take time away and recharge.

What sort of life modifications have you been pushed to make in order to fit advocacy in your schedule? How do you schedule advocacy time and rechargeable time?

  1. I literally create a daily schedule that accommodates my health, self care and advocacy. Also, when working in an advocacy or awareness initiative, I over project the deadline. Example, May 12th is Fibromyalgia Awareness day. I’ve already started coordinating awareness and advocacy issues in January. This way if I become sick, or in a flare up, or any other issues that arise, I have plenty of time to accomplish my awareness and advocacy projects without stressing out. If I estimate a project will take 4 weeks, I start working/coordinating that project 6-8 weeks out. This way I don’t over tax myself, while accommodating my illness, and allow time for daily activities/chores and self care.

    1. those are great ideas thanks 😊 ~Racquel~ Social Network Moderator
