What are your realistic limitations with advocacy as a career?

We all have roadblocks when it comes to the career we want to have. But facing those roadblocks head on can help us to find new avenues to success without having to sacrifice our health, finances or family. Think about these three categories and share how they might impact your career and how you might navigate the challenges they present on your path to advocacy as a full-time career.

  1. I have been in numerous positions to where I work under the organizations of others to get comfortable advocating at the capital and marching towards specific changes that benefit the community as the future.

  2. That is a great breakdown for getting the reality of challenges to think about before deciding what type of advocacy to do as a career.
    In my work life, I was always the face of the business, even after getting into management.

    When my health team and I decide for me to test the workforce waters I think I will do more background type work. I’m not sure what that will feel like for me. But I’m excited todo some research and see where I can be useful again.

    1. No, Donna, I haven't. I've encountered so many platforms out there that I'm dumbfounded to find one to help my podcast Epilepsy Gangster. I've actually hoped I could get enough exposure to get at least finance it with an occasional speaking engagement. Instead, I'm having to substitute teach.   4. I agree with what has been said already. My health can be an unpredictable factor in my life. I would love to learn more about volunteer advocacy opportunities.
