Business or Advocacy

On your public advocacy journey have you found it challenging moving towards the business elements? For many being a patient advocate is about sharing our voice and stories, but in time it can lead to business-related opportunities. Have you ever looked at it that way and do you think you can do both...advocate ....or run a business as a patient advocate?
May I say both can be true

Do tell...

  1. really love the question 🙋🏾‍♀️ you pose. I'm on the process of this transition because I believe both to be true. I began in 2015 and hoped it would lead me to this defining moment. It has! I'm excited, yet find it challenging as I try to process branding packages or a la cart services as a speaker, moderator, and patient board member. Grateful you posted.

    Any suggestions??

    1. You're so welcome! I've learned there's indeed a learning curve to consider. The more opportunities roll in you begin to think of how to proceed with a bit of business savvy in making deals...if you will. I've learned a lot of connections will not give you the playbook, and this is where you learn and grow along the way
The first stop is to try and create a media kit on where you've been active.

      Good luck!
