  1. Yes, I want to write... a book, a blog, a newsletter, about Invisible Disabilities, and living well with chronic, progressive, and terminal illnesses. To be succinct, I am newly retired after a career in health & human services, as an advocate for elders and disabled inndivuals, and those in long term care. Diagnosed with IBS, Osteoarthritis, with one knee replacement done, and Trigeminal Neuralgia, I have Depression and Anxiety, both managed pretty well, and am a Survivor of Domestic Abuse, with PTSD.

    1. , have you started researching outlets for your story? You have a lot to speak to, and I'm sure your story would be a life raft for many. Please let us know how you decide to pursue sharing your story. - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

  2. Hello everyone. Yes, I have written a number of books about living with certain conditions such as double vision, leg length discrepancy, total knee replacement, and fractured jaw. I am currently updating my website and revamping my laptop, so no links yet. Plus, I am writing another book about living in a body cast for two years. Writing books is time consuming, but well worth it. Thanks for reading. 😀

    1. Thank you Racquel. I can’t wait to check out your link.
I would like some guidance when it’s time. Just to get me started in the right direction.

      1. I have three published books. Two of them are poetry based on the pain and suffering of those with chronic illness and chronic pain. My 3rd book is about my own personal journey through 30 years of fighting to find out what was wrong with me. I have three others that are started. Two of them are nearly finished. After having severe osteoporosis, I took two falls. In 2023, I fractured my collarbone, shoulder blade, and two ribs. It took over 8 months to get my collarbone surgery. It would not grow back together. Later in 2023, I fell and fractured my left femur down by my knee prosthesis. I had to have major surgery on it. I did my rehabilitation at home. I lost one of my pups when I fell in 2021 and fractured my right hip. I was in inpatient rehabilitation for 6 weeks. One of my pups mourned himself to passing away. He would not eat nor drink. My son brought him to me one night. He passed away in my arms in the rehab hospital. After that happened, I swore I would never leave one of them again. I have had so many other issues healthwise and just life itself that I had to put my other books on hold. I hope to get those published within the next year.

        1. Thank you! Osteoporosis is a nightmare. I will not keep myself down. None of the illnesses and diseases will keep me down. If I am outside working in the yard, I feel my best. I also feel better when my Doxie, Bella, is by my side.

        2. thats fantastic. I loved everything outdoors. Let someone else do the housework. I also have asthma, allergies and COPD, as well as the orthopedic, etc. I hope that you can enjoy working in your yard for as long as you choose to do so.
We both do better with a dog by our side. Bella is a pretty name. They do make the world go round don’t they?
