Have you ever, or do you want to, publish a book about your story?

Share your journey to getting a book published about your health advocacy below. Let us know if you have any tips or tricks for those who want to get started in writing, but aren't sure where to begin. Also, share a link to your book!!

  1. I haven’t published a book yet, but I’ve been sharing my story piece by piece through articles and reflections. You can find many of my health-related insights and personal takes on advocacy on my blog.

My biggest tip for anyone wanting to start writing is: don’t wait for a “perfect” moment or structure. Start with a single thought, an experience, or even a question. Let it grow naturally. Write like you’re talking to a friend who truly needs to hear what you have to say. The polish can come later — the heart should come first.

    1. Thank you

      1. I am in the process of getting a children's book submitted to publishing should be out in July.

        1. Yes, I want to write... a book, a blog, a newsletter, about Invisible Disabilities, and living well with chronic, progressive, and terminal illnesses. To be succinct, I am newly retired after a career in health & human services, as an advocate for elders and disabled inndivuals, and those in long term care. Diagnosed with IBS, Osteoarthritis, with one knee replacement done, and Trigeminal Neuralgia, I have Depression and Anxiety, both managed pretty well, and am a Survivor of Domestic Abuse, with PTSD.

          1. , have you started researching outlets for your story? You have a lot to speak to, and I'm sure your story would be a life raft for many. Please let us know how you decide to pursue sharing your story. - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

          2. - I am dreaming blog, podcast, substack, then a book
