Flashing Lights? The Most Recognized But Unknown Seizure Trigger

Allany Muniz, the creator of Diary of an Epileptic explores epilepsy from personal experience, voiceovers, and stories from heroes to crime victims. Unfortunately, epilepsy is commonly known as an invisible disability which leaves a lot of room for interpretation.
What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy is described as a neurological disorder which is triggered by recurring seizures aka someone having multiple seizures.
What’s Photosensitive Epilepsy?
Photosensitive epilepsy is when someone gets triggered by either flashing light or continuous flashing lights. According to the Epilepsy Foundation website, Photosensitivity Epilepsy only occurs in less than 5% of people.
Truth is
People with photosensitive epilepsy are actually less than 5%. In my theory, the reason people believe this is the second common type of Epilepsy/seizures is mainly because of social media. For instance, when someone posts stuff when they’re bored or likes TV shows and movies. In reality, flashing lights trigger lightheaded migraine, auras, or zone out for a little bit.

Flashing lights Include

What Happens?
Sometimes we freeze at these moments, while from the aura, an innocent moment, or pure shock of how cruel people can be. No matter the circumstances, hopefully this helps during one of these times.
